This facility houses the world’s most-advanced wind-turbine drivetrain testing facility capable of full-scale highly accelerated mechanical and electrical testing.  And stand this alongside the global impact of the health and life sciences research at the Medical University.  For decades, our beautiful Charleston has been recognized as a #1 destination for tourism, for weddings and corporate retreats.  What we now have ahead of us is to be seen as a #1 destination for INNOVATION.  To be a true regional leader in building a knowledge economy. 

Our strategic plan from the Charleston Regional Development Alliance, as well as our state focus is on building first-class innovation hubs.  With our outstanding colleges, universities, including our beloved Trident Tech, we have all the ingredients to surge as a leading innovation destination.  Our industry partners located in the Lowcountry are notable, and we are collectively poised to take lead over the next 5 to 10 years.  We can’t wait to be part of it all!
